The Silverton 34 Convertible, which debuted in 1978 and was redesigned in 1989, is one of the company’s most successful models, with more than 1,200 sold during a 16-year production run.

The design is a classic East Coast pedigree, fast for coastal cruising, with a large, livable interior and a full-featured and comfortable flybridge helm station aloft. For this Pacific Northwest-based yacht the flybridge is fully enclosed in a canvas shelter.

The modified-V design of the hull is known for a smooth ride with a cruise speed of 18 knots and a top end in the upper 20's.

The boat has no external wood trim for ease of maintenance. Decks are foam core encapsulated fiberglass with molded in non-skid. Stringers of encapsulated foam core stiffen the hull. A large molded fiberglass swim step is aft. The hull is joined to the deck with stainless steel bolts.

Notes from the surveyor:
"The hull is in good structural condition, no delamination was heard, there are no cosmetic blisters on the underbody."

"The hull is well built with a lot of woven roving. The topsides cosmetics are good. Swim step is well secured."

Waterline Boats / Boatshed does not independently verify capacities and measures, which are reported from seller-provided information and/or literature.

This is a remarkably spacious interior with the absence of a lower helm and the wide beam of the vessel.

Enter the interior from the cockpit through a sliding glass doorway. This space forms the upper saloon with a sofa to starboard (large enough for a sleeping berth), a center low table, and a shelf with flat screen television to port. The countertops are in a marble design and the interior of the boat has a Euro-style to the finishes and trim selection. The flooring is a luxury vinyl woodgrain material in a gray hickory finish. Large windows provide a view outside from this upper saloon. The interior features a reverse-cycle system for heating and air conditioning.

A couple of steps lead down and forward to the galley and dining area. A large dinette to port converts into a double berth. To starboard is a stylish galley space with countertop electric two burner cooktop, microwave, modern sink and faucet, Norcold AD/DC refrigerator freezer, wine cooler, and ample storage in dark gray cabinetry which accents the light gray fabric wall finishes and marble countertop. Recessed halogen lighting provides tasteful illumination.

Forward to starboard is the marine head compartment. The trim is off-white and clean with ample space for a shower and electric marine toilet plus cabinetry for essential storage. The shower space is quite large with bi-fold glass doors and an edge seat and towel storage on the outboard wall as well as an opening port for ventilation.

Forward is the large master cabin. The anchor locker is accessed from the forward bulkhead. The queen sized double berth is easy to access from steps at the foot of the berth. The interior of this cabin is tasteful like the rest of the interior design. There is ample storage in drawers and cabinets. A flat screen television is mounted on the aft bulkhead. A large hatch overhead provides natural light, ventilation, and emergency egress.

Commentaires du Broker

An East Coast classic, the Silverton 34 Convertible was a popular design by this well-regarded manufacturer. The boat has a remarkable amount of interior space in a 34 foot length. This boat has a Euro-styling to its interior fit and finish, with a subdued color palette for trim and interior wall and floor decor.

Twin Crusader 350 HP gas engines deliver remarkable speed for Puget Sound and coastal cruising. A weekend trip to the San Juan Islands from Seattle would be easily managed.

The forward master cabin with a very comfortable double queen-sized berth, the large marine head compartment with stall shower, a separate convertible dinette, and a convenient galley make for ample space for cruising accommodations. The open upper saloon with sliding glass door to the cockpit provides a nice area for lounging and entertaining underway or at the dock with windows all around.

These boats are operated from a fully enclosed upper flybridge for great visibility and control. Two quality helm chairs and an L-shaped settee provide for comfortable seating.

This boat would be a great summer ride for exploring local waters with the speed to go further without the need for extended time in transit.
