About Dennis Sherrer
After years navigating education, basketball coaching, and digital yacht brokerage, I've dropped anchor at Waterline Boats-where real conversations and hands-on service guide every transaction.
My journey began as a math and computer science teacher, but much of my early passion was found courtside. I coached basketball from high school to college, working up and down the Pacific Coast and alongside Hall of Fame coaches like Ralph Miller at Oregon State. Coaching sharpened my leadership, recruiting, and listening skills-tools that translate seamlessly to yacht brokerage.
After leaving college coaching, I returned to Seattle and spent five years searching for the "perfect" boat before buying my first-The Brain of Pooh, a 1985 30' Catalina. That launched a decade of sailing charters and timeshares, where I quickly learned: there's no perfect boat-just the next one you've always wanted.
I spent nearly eight years at Pop Yachts, developing a data-driven approach to advising buyers and sellers. While I've never thought of myself as a salesman, I'm a teacher at heart-someone who understands market conditions, trends, and how to guide clients with clarity and confidence.
Now at Waterline Boats, I'm excited to bring that experience into a personal, in-office setting.
My wife and I live in Seattle-she teaches elementary school, and we're proud parents of three incredible kids pursuing careers in psychology, wildlife biology, and veterinary medicine.
If you're ready to find your first boat-or your next one-I'd be honored to help navigate the way.
