Boarding is accomplished via transom gate from the swim platform, or through port or starboard bulwarks side entry doors. Movement around the exterior is easy, with wide side decks and well-positioned, sturdy handrails. The heavy construction is noted by the solid feeling for the decks underfoot. Notable features around the exterior -- cushioned seating aft, a large foredeck with low bulwarks for safety, freshwater washdown at bow, and aft freshwater hot/cold shower. The lazarette compartment, below the aft deck, is very large. It houses steering gear and other equipment, and also provides good storage space.
The aft trunk cabin provides the mounting location for the Highfield RIB.
The flybridge helm is well-equipped with electronics and offers a commanding view with its far-forward location. A refrigerator / freezer and flybridge sink add to the pleasure of operation from topside. Two Todd pedestal seats.
Entry into the interior is through port or starboard watertight doors -- the port door immediately aft of the galley, and the starboard door at the helm station.
The main deck level includes the galley, the saloon table and the lower helm on one level.
The galley has a granite countertop, Tundra under-counter refrigerator/freezer, Force 10 propane range, Raritan icemaker, and a double-basin sink. A microwave is in a cabinet adjacent aft. Overhead cabinets provide plenty of storage. Countertops are rimmed with fiddles which serve as handholds for safety.
The saloon settee is configured in an attractive and comfortable oval arrangement that will easily accommodate six, and with a lovely pedestal table.
The lower helm enjoys good forward visibility due to the elevated height of the main deck floor, and is abundantly configured with displays and other navigational equipment and operational controls. Seating is a double bench seat.
Steps down and forward is the guest suite with a V-berth which includes a filler cushion for the center. Storage in cabinets, drawers, a hanging locker, and under the hinged steps is plentiful. Teak joinery and attractively-upholstered cushions make this a very appealing place for guests. There is a head/shower compartment ensuite.
The aft cabin / stateroom is quite large, with a queen pedestal bed, drawers and cabinets galore, and a Splendide washer enclosed within a cabinet. Separate head and shower compartments are roomy -- with head to port, attractively appointed, and shower to starboard. The shower compartment has a standing-height watertight engineroom access door.
Two 12k BTU Cruisair reverse-cycle units and one 16 k BTU Marinair unit (new 2023).

Broker's Comments
This solidly-built and lovely Selene Archer 40 Ocean Trawler is well-located and is equipped for Great Loop cruising and for adventures to the Bahamas or beyond.
Anyone with familiarity with Selene knows that their trawlers are built for no-compromise cruising comfort and reliability. The Archer models brought all of the big boat Selene features into a more compact package -- including heavy lay-up, sturdy handrails, spacious engineroom, top-rate equipment, beautiful teak joinery, seaworthy fittings and windows and doors. This 40' model , with more interior room than its 36' predecessor, represents an especially attractive value for all of its equipment and craftsmanship and for the inherent toughness that will ensure many future years of pleasurable use.
With its flag blue Awlgrip hull coloration, white superstructure and tan non-skid and purposeful trawler lines this boat presents a striking appearance on the water. The interior is just as striking -- audibly quiet, tactilely silky and solid, and aesthetically richly nautical.
She carries a 2023 Highfield RIB with 20 hp Totatsu outboard, and has had attentive care under its current owners. They have also added a Splendide washer, and an Iveco refrigerator/freezer at the flybridge.
Many features contribute to safe and easy operation -- side entry doors, bulwarks-protected side decks all around, an integral swim platform, fore and aft deck showers, sturdy handrails, well-equipped upper and lower helm stations, full-size watertight door into the engineroom, bow and stern thrusters, sturdy integral swim platform with two safety "staple" handrails, Reverso oil-change system, fuel polishing system, and more.
Those looking for a ready, reliable, economical and capable cruiser would do well to consider this Archer 40.
