Richardson Boat Company of North Tonawanda, New York produced high-quality boats from 1909 to 1962. Richardson suspended recreational boat construction during WWII, becoming a major supplier of a wide variety of military vessels and expanding in the process. This boat was built not long after Richardson returned to production of recreational boats.
Hull construction is 1" x 4" planking. The bottom is marine plywood. Decking is 1" x 3" planking topped with painted canvas.
This beautiful Richardson enjoys several modern upgrades that increase her functionality and reliability without detracting from her classic appeal. These include a modified galley, a custom settee in the salon, custom lighting, custom Diamond Seaglaze windows (imagine...no leaks!), new wiring, and non-skid deck paint. The exterior brightwork looks great -- recently done and well protected with canvas (and the boat has been stored under cover!).
Her 2008 surveyor reported that the "vessel was found to be in very good condition. Her interior was found to be very clean and well-maintained. Her engine compartment was found to be clean and orderly with some minor contamination noted (which was subsequently corrected by the owner). Hulls sides and decks were also found to be in good condition and well painted. Overall she shows that she has had very good care from her current owner."
