This is the "Sailor's Choice" in cruising, and she can be easily handled by a couple.
As you enter the interior of the vessel down the companionway, the first thing you will notice is how spacious, airy and light it seems with an adjustable main hatch, many portlights, and windows along with the excellent headroom at just over 6 feet. The interior lighting has been upgraded to the LED's. The hot water heater feels like a true luxury on some of our colder Northwest evenings.
The teak and hollywood sole flooring bring a warmth to the feel of the vessel.
Cruisers love storage space, and the Catalina 36 is renowned for it. The galley and main cabin have received special attention to design and detail. The galley is a functional "U" shape, with composite counter tops, sinks are near centerline for proper drainage underway. A large, refrigerated ice box is aft and a dry food locker is forward. A gimbaled, stainless steel LPG stove with oven is standard equipment. A new safety-rigged propane tank is included.
Directly behind the navigation station is the aft cabin which is a large comfortable double berth that nearly stretches across the beam of the cabin. This cabin includes a hanging locker and a bureau with two opening portlights. You can also access the engine from removable covers and privacy is afforded by the according-style doors.
The navigation station has all the needed equipment within easy reach and the wide chart table has storage under the piano-hinged top.
The two-seating game table is to the forward of the Navigation station and the sturdy table also drops down easily to turn into an extra berth.
The Saloon seating can be made into a settee berth and here you will find plenty of storage under the benches where you will find ample drawers' lockers and bins for all your cruising provisions and gear, and recessed bookcases throughout, as well as the aluminum fuel tank. The owners are including new beautifully designed nautical upholstery material as they had been preparing to upgrade all the back and bench seating this year.
The sole has several access covers to help you look into the bilge if needed.
The forward cabin is a spaciously large double V-berth that includes a hanging locker, drawers, storage bins and shelves. The head and hoses are new and upgraded to electric style. This entire shower/head stall is extremely roomy feel to it. There is a handheld wand, a large cabinet and mirror and a teak bench.
