The hull design of the Camano 31 is unique and well-regarded for its stability, seaworthiness, and efficiency. The deep, hollow v-shaped keel provides about 25% of the hull's displacement, and above displacement speeds helps lift the stern so that water runs cleanly off the transom, thus maintaining a more linear speed-fuel relationship up to 18 knots. An additional benefit of the Keelform hull is that the engine is mounted in the keel, lowering the center of gravity. The boat heels very little even in tight turns. The owners speak of its stable performance in difficult sea conditions and its fuel efficiency, especially at speeds from 10 - 14 knots that are difficult for planing or displacement hulls of this size.
Prop and rudder are protected by a skeg.
The exceptionally large window area is subdivided into enough segments that structural rigidity is maintained.
Solid, hand-laid fiberglass below the waterline, with foam coring above the waterline. The windlass and deck fixtures are backed with metal backing plates.
Extensive sound-deadening insulation is used in the cabin floor, making the boat unusually quiet in operation.

Broker's Comments
The Camano 31 is a well-known Northwest boat and was designed for these waters -- ready to handle a wide range of conditions, sturdy, simple to operate and maintain, workboatlike in appearance, capable of comfortable long-range cruising, and with an amazingly large interior space. A study of the photos of the boat demonstrates that it would be literally impossible to design a boat with better 360-degree visibility and more light.
The Camano 31 line has been changed little over time -- Camano enthusiasts (and there are many) will say that there has been no need to mess with perfection! This 1993 model is difficult to distinguish from a more recent model, and has had the additional benefit of excellent care and maintenance, and low operating hours.
The flybridge is surprisingly large with room for many guests. The lower helm and the flybridge helm are both positioned far forward for excellent visibility.
While the Camano is not as well known in other parts of the world, it should absolutely be considered by anyone looking for a proven boat with performance and accommodations that far exceed its nominal size.
