TAMD-41 six-cylinder turbo-diesel - quiet running and reliable power. Extremely clean and quite apparently well-maintained. Injectors have been replaced in 2011 (a common requirement with these engines at about 2000 hours).
Dual Racor fuel filters.
Powerful bow thruster.
Xantrex Freedom Marine 20 inverter (2000w) / charger (100 amps) with remote monitor in cabin.
House bank consists of four Trojan deep-cycle batteries -- new 2011 -- charged by a dedicated alternator. Approximately 600 amp-hours for plenty of power at anchor. Starting battery replaced 2011.

The hull design of the Camano 31 is unique and well-regarded for its stability, seaworthiness, and efficiency. The deep, hollow v-shaped keel provides about 25% of the hull's displacement, and above displacement speeds helps lift the stern so that water runs cleanly off the transom, thus maintaining a more linear speed-fuel relationship up to 17 knots. An additional benefit of the Keelform hull is that the engine is mounted in the keel, lowering the center of gravity. The boat heels very little even in tight turns. The owners speak of its stable performance in difficult sea conditions and its fuel efficiency, especially at speeds from 10 - 15 knots that are difficult for planing or displacement hulls of this size.
Pronounced bow flair keeps the spray down and makes for a dryer boat.
Prop and rudder are protected by a skeg.
The exceptionally large window area is subdivided into enough segments that structural rigidity is maintained.
Solid, hand-laid fiberglass below the waterline, with foam coring above the waterline. The windlass and deck fixtures are backed with metal backing plates.
Extensive sound-deadening insulation is used in the cabin floor, making the boat unusually quiet in operation.
New bottom paint (CSC Micron) May 2011.

Broker's Comments
Unbelievably clean! It's not unusual for a Camano 31 of any age to look great inside and out (a credit to the boat's design and construction) but this one is extraordinary. She has enjoyed exceptionally attentive care and many recent upgrades and system replacements. She's a well-equipped and capable small trawler and is ready to cruise.
The Camano 31 is a well-known Northwest boat and was designed for Northwest waters -- ready to handle a wide range of conditions, sturdy, simple to operate and maintain, workboatlike in appearance, capable of comfortable long-range cruising, and with an amazingly large interior space. A study of the photos of the boat demonstrates that it would be literally impossible to design a boat with better 360-degree visibility and more light.
The Camano 31 is known to be a carefully-built boat. All the hoses and wires and fasteners are precisely run. The engine room is practically a work of industrial art. Everything fits exactly as it should. The Camano 31 embodies the "less is more" philosophy to perfection. The result is a boat that is simple to operate and maintain and yet capable of duty as a stout little ship.
