The battery bank consists of 8 Deka GC 15 6 V batteries arranged in 2 banks with a total capacity of over 1000 amp hrs! These batteries are new in 2010.

There is a new 1500 trace inverter/charger to take full advantage of the massive battery capacity and multiple charging sources aboard.

There is an 1800 watt inverter new in 2010.

All this battery capacity is continuously being quietly recharged by the twin 410 watt solar panels with its own self contained regulator and the Hi capacity Air breeze wind generator.

This redundant power generation capability is a safety feature that ensures you will always have a way to recharge your batteries.

Together these two units will power all normal house loads for endless hrs of green, quiet cruising off the grid! Without the noise and complexity of a generator you will be able to enjoy all the amenities of this beautiful yacht. Keep you beer cold, your ice cream frozen and make as much water as you desire. On a long passage the autopilot can be your helmsman while you keep watch and enjoy a good book.

Whenever you are using the "iron genny" the 140 amp alternator with smart regulator gives a fast recharge if needed.

All of this capacity is simple to understand with the Nasa battery bank moniter display at the Nav station which allows you to know the state of your batteries with a simple glance.

The Pur 140 E watermaker can provide up to 120 gallons of fresh water per day allowing the crew the luxury of almost unlimited water usage. A nice long fresh water rinse after your swim?.Shower everyday?? Now that's luxury!

Built in a state-of-the-art factory in Germany, this boat is everything you would expect from German engineering and construction. By utilizing the latest Cad-Cam design coupled with modern production quality control methods, Bavaria Yachts have a much deserved reputation for building strong and durable yachts at an affordable price.

Her designers gave her a deep 7 ft 5 in fin keel that weighs over 8600 lbs. Combined with her overall 24000 lbs displacement she has one of the highest ballast to weight ratios in her class. This not only makes for a safe boat offshore it also allows her to stay on her feet in a blow and point high. While never recommended it's nice to know you have a boat that can crawl off a lee shore when needed!

She carries a European CE All Ocean rating and is equipped to swiftly and safely carry you and your family across any ocean.

No. of single berths 1
Cabin(s) 4
Sink 3

After leaving the spacious cockpit, you descend the teak companionway staircase into the main saloon. Using her full 14 ft 6 in beam to its maximum advantage, this area is spacious enough to accommodate a very large family or crew without feeling crowded. The use of fine teak joinery and the teak and holly sole gives this area a very warm nautical feeling and reminds one of fine furniture.

Aft are the port and starboard double cabins, each with its own head and shower!

Befitting her long distance cruising pedigree there is a fully equipped navigation station to starboard. The large Teak Nav desk allows proper chart work and you have all modern electronic aids to navigation within easy reach while seated. There is plenty of storage here for all your charts, coast pilots and cruising guides.

The U shaped galley is to starboard and features both a top loading freezer and front opening fridge. There is a double sink and plenty of counter space for preparing meals for the crew.

Across from the galley is the beautiful settee area. A large teak table and seating for ten makes this the social area of the boat! Enjoy a gourmet meal or sit back and watch a movie on the flat screen TV! And if four cabins are not enough for all your crew this settee converts into a large berth also.

The owner has recently replaced the salon upholstery with high-quality ultraleather cushions!

Continuing forward brings you to the full-width master cabin with a queen berth to port and a sofa/pilot berth to starboard with lots of storage. This area also features its own head with shower.

Proceeding further forward brings you to the connecting bow cabin -- perfect to give the kids their own space close by.

All of this expansive living space is kept warm and dry by a newer (2010) Espar hydronic heating system installed for our NW sailing conditions! When you venture South you will appreciate the 19 opening hatches for excellent ventilation and the high output fans in each cabin.

While designed and equipped for long distance passage making, she is also a fine yacht to explore the San Juan Islands with family and friends.

With all her space she would also make an excellent live-aboard while you plan your next voyage!

Broker's Comments

Bavaria Yachts have a proud history in Europe and a much-deserved reputation for building tough and no-nonsense long-distance cruisers. While sturdily built, they also have good speed and sail characteristics. Compare her to some other boats in her class like Jeanneau or Benetau and you will notice subtle but important differences.

For instance the precise German engineering and production methods allow building a strong rigid hull without unneeded extra weight. Some of the weight saved is then but back into her deep fin keel. This gives her a high ballast to weight ratio for safe offshore work but also allows good light air performance.

This Bavaria 49, with its high aspect ratio Seldon rig and long waterline will easily sail at half the apparent wind speed, making her a swift passage maker and a fun and responsive day-sailer as well!

This particular Bavaria 49 was purchased by a knowledgeable Norwegian family. After careful preparation and updating with the latest electronics and safety gear she proved herself with a swift and uneventful Atlantic crossing to the Caribbean in 2009. After fulfilling that owner's dream to cross the Atlantic she was sold to her present owner who wanted a safe and enjoyable yacht to share with his wife and three children and they spent a year sailing together in the Caribbean. When it was time to return home to Seattle they had the boat trucked here to continue the adventure. Work and school obligations have changed the plan and she is reluctantly for sale.

Continuously updated (new salon upholstery and new canvas most recently), she is ready to leave immediately and carry another family off to realize their dream of sailing away on a great adventure. Load the provisions and top off the tanks and you could be underway.

Don't miss this opportunity to get a well-equipped, ready-to-go late-model world cruiser at a remarkable price.
