The owner is very proud of his engine room and justifiably so. It is clean, neat and well organized with all systems in like-new condition and professionally laid out. A tool box and work bench is provide forward to port with a large capacity water heater and clothes washer/dryer installed to starboard. The two Racor fuel filters are installed in the center of the aft bulkhead for easy access. The space between the two Caterpillar 3208 engines is carpeted and clean enough for white clothes. Wiring is in excellent condition.

The lazarette is clean and well organized with the new Espar hydronic furnace system readily accessed to port, the HRO watermaker and its filter located forward center and the enclosed 8KW generator to starboard.

The HRO watermaker is rated at 600 gallons per day so the owners never need to fill up fresh water at the dock when cruising.

Wesmar roll fin hydraulic stabilizers substantially reduce rolling motion when underway. Bennet hydraulic trim tabs allow accurate trimming and leveling of the boat underway.

A Glendenning Automatic Engine Synchronizer keeps engine speeds matched.

This is a solidly-built boat constructed of the best materials by craftsman here in Washington. Designed by Ed Monk Jr. of Bainbridge Island to the specifications of the legendary R. M. "Tolly" Tollefson as the boat he wanted for himself to cruise Northwest waters from Olympia to Alaska, which he did for many years in his personal 48. Powered by a pair of the highly regarded Caterpillar 3208's, it can attain speeds of approaching 20 knots or be cruised economically at 9 knots. The overall design, typical of Ed Monk and Tolly Tollefson, is remarkably well engineered and both practical and comfortable for West Coast boating. The Tollycraft 48 was such a successful design that it remained in production from 1975 until 1998.

The exterior features a roomy cockpit for fishing, diving or dinghy access with a transom door and large swim platform. The wide, walk around side decks are provided with high bulwarks and railings. The large and well protected foredeck provides seating and sunbathing and, when fitted with the pot hauler on this yacht, additional fishing. The main decks are finished in a molded fiberglass pattern to simulate teak decks for good traction wet or dry without the maintenance hassles of wood decks. The walkway over the sun deck above the aft cabin is finished in real teak in excellent condition.

A ladder over the aft cabin leads to the sun deck with ample space for small boat storage. On this yacht a second 10' RIB is carried and provided with its own "Nick Jackson" powered davit system.

The expansive flybridge provides a commanding 360 degree view and space for all your crew and guests in complete comfort totally enclosed in canvas and clear panels.

The boat house in Blaine in which this yacht is kept will also be available when the yacht is sold.

Broker's Comments

The Tollycraft 48 Cockpit Motor Yacht is a well-known classic cruising yacht that is completely contemporary. It was in production for an unprecedented 24 years and remains one of the most desirable yachts in its size class. This is the model that "Tolly" Tollefson wanted for himself and that he actually used for cruising for many years.

This particular yacht, hull #5, has been stored in a boat house since new and has been continuously upgraded by conscientious owners. It is in like new or perhaps better than new condition today. It features very desirable additions such as the 8KW generator, 600 gpd watermaker, modern electronics with a forward looking sonar and Wesmar hydraulic vane stabilizers. Overall, this boat represents a tremendous bargain and can include the boathouse it is currently kept in. This Tollycraft 48 is an ideal way to cruise the Inside Passage to Alaska in comfort, style and safety.
