Mainship builds a quality fast trawler that won't break the bank at the fuel pump. This design is well suited to day boating and weekend escapes when time is of the essence. It is highly efficient - burning only 1.5 gal/hour at 7 knots or 4 gal/hour at 14 knots. With the ability to sip fuel at slow speeds, or get to your destination quickly it is a great boat for couples that want to get away and make the most of your short leisure time.
The Pilot Series II has a classic lobster boat layout and styling. The cockpit is large for a 30' boat and is perfect for fishing or cocktail hour in lounge chairs. The center transom door provides easy access to the swim step for scuba diving, swimming or stepping onto the dock. The opposing cockpit benches provide seating for 6-8 and have storage beneath. Visibility is great from either the helm seat or portside co-captain chair. The foredeck is accessed by walkarounds with hand rails.

Enter the cabin through the center sliding companionway door. The galley is on the portside - it is well configured given its compact size. It has a refrigerator, single propane burner, built in microwave, sink and storage. Across from the galley is the head compartment on the starboard side. It has an electric flush head, sink, and separate shower head. The saloon consists of a C-shaped seating area with removable dining table. The table leafs easily fold out for more table space. The berth is in the forepeak and has a clever, space saving design. The regulation queen size bed folds out with an aluminum frame tucked below the mattress similar to a hide-a-bed. It is a great way to get a full queen size berth without sacrificing saloon space in a 30' boat.

Broker's Comments
Recent price reduction makes this a great value for a late-model fuel-efficient Mainship trawler in very nice condition. Equipped with a bow thruster, this pocket trawler is especially easy to handle even for a novice boater. With its semi-displacement hull with keel it runs smoothly and tracks very well, while sipping fuel. It has classic down east styling and the hardtop is great for all season Northwest boating. With an open cockpit and seating area it is great for entertaining, fishing, scuba diving, or just relaxing dockside in the sunshine. The interior has a warm color scheme with light cherrywood and lots of natural light thorough the portholes and hatch. It is designed to be a low-maintenance, easy to clean boat with no exterior teak and a minimal amount of canvas. This trawler is well suited for day boating, long weekends or extended trips to the islands for two. The owner has been up the inside passage to Alaska. With fuel efficiency, low moorage costs, easy handling and maintenance, this is an excellent boat for a cruising couple.
