A pair of low-hours Detroit (GM) 8.2T four-cycle turbocharged diesel engines featuring fresh water cooled exhaust manifolds and turbos. Engine displacement is 8.2 liters or 500 cubic inches. Peak power is 250 HP at 3,200 RPM. Engine and accessory access is excellent with room around both engines and three large hatches. These engines are often unfairly criticized. The 8.2 T engine up to 250 HP has been demonstrated to be very economical and durable. Parts for the 8.2T are available at very reasonable prices and significantly lower priced than for those other brands. These engines are from 1989 and benefited from significant upgrades implemented in 1988 which improved reliability. Most of the bad reputation of the 8.2 series comes from the much higher horsepower 8.2 TI (intercooled) which was used in sports fishing boats at continuous high power settings. Under those conditions most marinized diesel engines have a short life cycle. The one caveat that does apply to these engines is that the raw water pump should be watched as it can require frequent maintenance but that is not unusual in any marine engine.

Designed for speed with substantial deadrise and a flat run to the stern, no keel and blade rudders. This boat appears to be well built by the British Columbia yard which turned out a large number of these popular yachts. This is the largest size produced by Cooper/Queenship and features a large aft "owners stateroom" with en-suite bath. This configuration provides a large, raised aft deck. This boat also features an optional hard top sheltering the aft deck.

Commentaires du Broker
The Cooper Prowler 42 is a well-built fast yacht produced by the Cooper (later Queenship) yard in British Columbia. This is the "aft cabin" model which provides a full width owners stateroom aft with en-suite bath in addition to the forward cabin and head. This design provides a fast yacht with large spaces and good views suitable for two couples.
The spacious interior includes the main saloon with the inside helm forward to starboard and a lower galley and dining area.
