The Sabre offers good accommodation, with 6' headroom in the saloon on a 27 ft hull. Both fin and skeg and twin bilge keels were offered. Both had an excellent ballast ratio. They were originally moulded and fitted out by by Marine Construction (Marcon) Ltd. of Southampton, who also moulded Trident and Rival hulls, amongst others. Construction was solid, although some were supplied in kit form and were thus home-completed, hence interior fit-out standards may vary. Factory-built boats were fairly well-finished, and stand comparison with other UK production boats of the time, such as Westerlys. A few late examples were built by Brue Yachts, after Marcon ceased building them.
