This is a very special engine installation. Due to the 20 degree shaft down angle an Aqua-drive has been added between the engine and shaft coupling. This allows the engine to be mounted further aft to balance the boat. The Aqua-drive prevents any vibration and always keeps the shaft in line. This installed device usually costs about $2,400.00. The Perkins diesel engine is a Parama model -- 18 HP.

The rig was replaced with a custom mast from Svenson Rigging in 1989, including all rod rigging. The roller furling was added in in 2006. All the winches are Barients. The primaries are # 25's and the spinnaker winches are #23's - self tailing. There are 2 318's and 3 #10's used for halyards and trim. A very-well-set-up cockpit -- there are also 10 sheet stoppers for halyards and trim lines.
--Except for the Rolly Tasker full-batten main, added in 2008, the other 4 sails are Sobsted.
--The 1.5oz Reacher makes a great cruising spinnaker.

This is a Tom Wylie design. Anyone who knows anything about racing sailboat designers in the San Francisco Bay area puts Tom in a class with Gary Mull, Carl Schumacher and Bill Lee. He has designed boats from a 21' ocean racer to 65' racers. His friends and competitors say that he designs great performance boats. This Wylie 34' is no exception.
This vessel was built by a San Francisco Bay area builder, North Coast Yachts, that is well known in the industry.

Broker's Comments

You'll seldom find a medium-sized sailboat that has great racing performance capabilities but can also be comfortably used for cruising. This Wylie 34 has a very liveable interior and a great working cockpit and deck. The engine installation provides easy access for maintenance. The after sections of the cabin provide plenty of sail or equipment storage while cruising. Newer mast, rigging and sails.
