Port Townsend Shipbuilding Co-op rebuilt the bowsprit in 2010. Spars are all spruce. All were pulled, examined and proved to be strong at that time. The entire transom of this vessel was refurbished with some replacement of hull planks done by the co-op. Bottom paint two coats applied 10/09. This upcoming spring plans are to pull the boat and repaint the bottom. Port Townsend Shipbuilding Co-op examined this boat very carefully and repaired all findings as the owners were going to take the boat to Alaska. During this four month round trip from the Puget Sound to Haines, Alaska the vessel performed flawlessly. Carol Hasse Sails in Port Townsend stitched and made repairs as needed to all sails prior to the Alaska trip. All but the mizzen were considered to be in good condition. The mizzen was determined to be in fair condition.

This Rosborough Privateer is a stunning vessel and shows as well maintained. The design is by Jim Rosborough of Nova Scotia. As far as is known, this was the only such boat built outside of Nova Scotia and is one of only three on the west coast now. Built in 1986 by the late Jim Omondson, a shipwright in Lake Oswego, Oregon who was a perfectionist –– the craftsmanship and design of are top quality throughout. The hull design features a long, straight keel with skeg-hung rudder and a well-protected 3-blade bronze propeller.
The Rosborough has a large aft deck with wide side decks for easy access to the foredeck. The pilothouse has doors port and starboard. The foredeck also has ample deck space for kayaks and seating. There are also kayak chocks mounted on the pilothouse roof for storage. Overall, the exterior appears well kept.
In October 2012 a survey was done as a result of a conditional purchase offer. The findings of this survey indicated that the boat was in overall above average condition and valued higher than her current asking price. Contact the listing broker for more information regarding this survey.

Broker's Comments
If you've ever considered living aboard a sailboat you have to look at this one. First impressions of this Rosborough Privateer 46 Pilothouse Ketch will have you thinking, “I can go anywhere on this boat and live comfortably while doing so", as her owners did to Alaska in 2007. Built of high quality materials and professionally serviced by Port Townsend Ship Building Co-op she is ready to go anywhere your dreams take you. Much of the paint and all the varnish are fresh. Most of the upholstery and carpet is only a couple of years old. She has a roomy, light and comfortable interior and the open and spacious decks make for delightful cruising. She surveyed in "Above Average Condition" just this last fall and was valued considerably higher than her asking price. Make an offer! Now is the time to get ready for boating season! New bottom paint job March 2012.
