The 220 hp Cummins diesel has been a real work horse in the marine industry. This 6 cylinder diesel engine has just over 3400 hours on it. That works out to be about 250 hours per year. With a complete set of maintenance records and good operational history this appears to be a well-cared-for engine. Oil changes are easy with the built in pump system.
Primary fuel filtering is provided by two Racor Filters with a secondary filter on the main engine.
The Marine Gear is a Twin Disc Transmission Model MG5050 2.04 to 1 reduction. Cable
Throttle and shift controls are by Morse controls and steering is a Sea Star hydraulic system. The shaft seal is a Packless Sealing system ( PSS) dripless shaft seal.
The 4.2 KW Entee West diesel generator has about 350 hours on it and is enclosed in SS sound shield. Its location in the lazarette saves room in the engine room.

There are two completely separate house battery banks. One is the standard house bank plus an inverter-only bank. Each bank is made up of four 6 volt golf cart batteries for a total of 8 plus a group 27 engine start battery. All are wet cell.

The inverter/charger is a Magnum Energy MM1212 70 amp pure sine wave inverter/charger. There are two 30 amp galvanic isolators by Pro Mariner attached to the two 30 amp dock side power inlets. The second inlet is for the separate 110 volt heat system. Standard fuse and circuit breaker panels for 12 VDC and 120 VAC, withpolarity indicator and master battery switch and more.

Sails

It's unusual to include information on masts for a power boat. This is not a standard Radar mast and dinghy crane. This custom design has a hinged base and is supported not by shrouds but aluminium tubes running forward and connecting to the Pilot House roof. It also provides a fine mounting platform for the searchlight, flag halyards, loud hailer, spreader lights and keeps the radar antenna off the PH roof eliminating the rotation noise. This design allows additional room behind the mast to launch and retrieve the dinghy plus handle moving other heavy objects.
Another special thing about this vessel is the redesigned stack. It has been cut down and moved forward to allow more room for dinghy storage.

Electrical Systems

12 volt battery, 9 batteries charged by: engine, shore power, generator

Nordic Tugs have an excellent reputation for solid fiberglass construction. All fiberglass parts are hand laid and are usually on the heavy side. Being a single engine vessel all of the models have a full keel with a skeg under the prop. The rudder is connected to the end of the skeg. Though all of the tugs built in the last 15 years have had bow thrusters built-in the size of the rudder and the hull design mean that the boat is surprisingly maneuverable without the thruster.

This model has Diamond Sea Glaze doors and windows. The two pilotouse doors are sliding and the aft door is hinged with lifters on the hatch.

The Nordic Tug 32 has been a popular and long-running model with Nordic Tugs. The pilothouse design with the wide body aft cabin creates a very large interior.

Starting in the salon we find an aft galley with a two burner propane stove with oven. Forward of the galley sink is an under counter combination freezer/refrigerator.

On the starboard side is an L shaped dinette that converts to a double berth. The teak table has a folding top for easy storage when the berth is made up.

Stepping up into the pilothouse you find a double seat on the starboard side. There is also a single seat on the port side. There are two Diamond Sea Glaze sliding doors to access the foredeck.

Moving into the forward stateroom the access to the head is on the starboard side. The off center double berth is to starboard with double reading lights on the bulkhead. The Lewmar deck hatch provides light the the room as well as access to fore deck.
