The ketch rig also includes a club stay sail and Yankee jib. This set up provides a lot of adjustment for heavy weather.

The Ingrid line of sailboats was built in Woodinville, Washington by Jim and Jerry Husted. There were well over 100 of these vessels completed and they proved to be well-built and a great off shore cruising design. The Husted brothers are also known for creating the Nordic Tug line of Trawlers.
The William Atkins design is a "double ender" . Another locally built model of a similar design is the Valiant built in Bellingham, Washington.
The long keel with a full rudder, somtimes known as a "barn door style" is well-accepted in offshore design. The combination of a large cockpit and good working deck make it easy to handle. The hull is all hand laid fiberglass, as is the deck. In' most sailing circles the boats are considered to be over built" with a lot of fiberglass in the construction -- yielding very sturdy construction.

The Ice box is divided into a freezer and refrigeration areas if electric or engine driven refrigeration is added. This area is also used as a nav station, and has room to add electronics. The galley overhead has not been completed, but materials are included.
Moving forward, there is a large centerline table with plenty of seating, On the starboard side is a pilot berth plus additional sleeping space when the dinette is converted. The starboard hull side or ceiling has been lined with hardwood and provides a great look!

Broker's Comments
If you want to go off-shore or just cruise to Alaska, this Ingrid 38 Ketch is a great boat to do it in. The owner has logged many hours cruising the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia. And he has added many more hours (and dollars) in refitting her since his purchase in 1990. He enjoyed the cruising and the refitting. There are still some things that need to be completed but overall the boat is ready to go. Sails are in good condition and the motor, with only 650 hours, is fresh and clean.
