The Hunter 44 Deck Salon terrifically combines performance sailing and cruising comfort. The hull has a unique "bow hollow" design which lengthens the waterline for greater speed and lift. The hull also has a "stern reflect for a flatter exit, resulting in enhanced stability and reduced wake characteristics."

The cockpit has plenty of seating for the whole crew and excellent visibility from the helm. It also features a fold away helm seat that creates a walk-through transom for easy access to the stern. The steering wheel folds up to make more room for entertaining while dockside. The shrouds attach to the chain plates at the gunwale, which improves access to the foredeck due to less obstructions.

Glen Hendrickson's innovative design produced an extremely comfortable cruiser with a performance sailing hull.

Interior Layout: Enter the salon through the companionway door and down 5 steps. The galley is to port, conveniently close to the cockpit. It features a separate fridge and freezer, dual sink w/removable cutting board, built in microwave, propane stove and oven, Corian countertops, and plenty of built-in storage for plates, glassware and food.

Forward of the galley is the U-shaped dinette that can be converted to a double berth. The table has foldable leaves that make it easier to get in and out. Across from the table is the navigation station and another settee. The navigation station has a built in chart table, night reading light, and storage beneath the seat. There is also a flatscreen TV and built in DVD player above the starboard settee.

Broker's Comments

This Hunter 44 Deck Salon has been professionally maintained and very lightly used.
With less than 50 hours on the 54Hp Yanmar 4JH-4E diesel engine this yacht is in perfect condition. Hunter designed the 44 DS with comfort and sail-ability in mind. It is an ideal layout for extended cruising or living aboard because of the generously-sized saloon (with plenty of natural light from many large windows) and the island queen berth in the owners' cabin. The galley will please the gourmet chef aboard with its abundant storage, ample counter space, separate fridge and freezer, and propane stove/oven. A large salon capable of entertaining plenty of friends and family. The 44 DS is designed with a wide beam aft to provide room for the island queen berth and a very spacious cockpit. With all of the interior comforts, this Hunter sails quite nicely on a well designed hull with deep draft fin keel. And she's a joy to sail -- with roller furling genoa, in-mast main furling, running rigging layed out for easy operation, and a commanding view from the helm. And movement on deck is easy too -- with wide side decks and a large working area on the foredeck.
