This is the "Troll" model which features a spacious flying bridge with seating for three and full controls. This boat is all fiberglass construction with a unique planing underwater profile and gelcoat finish.
The Camano 31 is all about the tremendous, unrestricted 360 degree view from the relatively large main cabin, and the speed and fuel efficiency of its unique hull design.
The hull design of the Canadian built Camano 31 is unique and well-regarded for its stability, seaworthiness, and efficiency. The deep, hollow "V" shaped keel provides about 25% of the hull's displacement, and above displacement speeds helps lift the stern so that water runs cleanly off the transom, thus maintaining a more linear speed-fuel relationship up to 18 knots. An additional benefit of the "Keelform hull" is that the engine is mounted in the keel, lowering the center of gravity. The boat heels very little even in tight turns. The owners speak of its stable performance in difficult sea conditions and its fuel efficiency, especially at speeds from 10 - 14 knots that are difficult for planing or displacement hulls of this size. The prop and rudder are protected by a skeg.
The hull layup is solid, hand-laid fiberglass below the waterline, with foam coring above the waterline. The windlass and deck fixtures are backed with metal backing plates. Extensive sound-deadening insulation is used in the cabin floor, making the boat unusually quiet in operation.
The engine compartment under the main saloon is accessed through two large hatches that open easy supported by spring struts. The systems layout is clean and uncluttered with good access to all components.

Broker's Comments
This 1997 Camano 31, designed and built in BC, Canada, is equipped for NW cruising, and is in very good condition with relatively low hours. Owner-installed extras include Raymarine electronics, Racor fuel filter system and a Sorensen hard dinghy with Seawise davit system. Standard features include autopilot, bow thruster and Webasto forced air cabin heat.
The Camano 31 is a well-known Northwest boat and was designed for these waters -- ready to handle a wide range of conditions, sturdy, simple to operate and maintain, work-boat-like in appearance, capable of comfortable long-range cruising, and with an amazingly large interior space. That large interior space is totally surrounded by windows providing an unobstructed 360 degree view.
This 1997 model displays the construction features so well-known throughout the line. All the hoses and wires are precisely run and the fasteners systematically placed. The engine room is practically a work of industrial art. Everything fits exactly as it should. The Camano 31 embodies the "less is more" philosophy to perfection. The result is a boat that is simple to operate and maintain and yet capable of duty as a stout little ship.
The flybridge is surprisingly large with room for many guests and is equipped with a stainless BBQ. The lower helm and the flybridge helm are both positioned far forward for excellent visibility.
While the Camano is not as well known in other parts of the world, it should absolutely be considered by anyone looking for a proven boat with performance and accommodations that far exceed its nominal size.
