Broker's Comments
This Ecume de Mer is Hull Number 260. She was built in 1972 in France and I am pleased to say I found her in great condition for that vintage. The design team at Groupe FINOT certainly knew what they were doing. The design was so popular that they were also built in Holland, Australia and Japan! She was a very popular and successful ¼ ton cruiser/racer when built and remains so even now. Quite an achievement for a design that was conceived in 1968.
Now Austrian flagged, for the last 10 years she has been in the Adriatic and before that spent most of her time in fresh water lakes in Europe. When I was onboard she was about to be lifted out for her regular clean-off and anti-fouling and so really needed a deep clean inside and out, along with a strip down and tidy. But she is in great condition for her age and there seemed to be nothing that a bit of energy couldn't sort.
She is an unusual example in that she has no inboard engine. Instead she has an outboard (Honda 8HP 4-stroke) that fits into a neat outboard well within her stern locker, along with 2 portable fuel tanks. Her single 100Ah battery is kept fully charged by a solar charger panel fixed to her foredeck hatch. The battery was new in 2008. There is a shore power cable and the battery can also be charged by means of a mains 'removable' charger. There is also a Harbeck road trailer available for this boat if required - by separate negotiation. A pedigree old cruiser/racer at a realistic price.
