This Prout 33CS had had all four( each end of her hulls) of her flotation chambers filled with two part closed cell foam which provides her with positive flotation under any extreme event! However unlikely this will be needed as Prouts are renowned for their structural strength. Her rudders are fully protected in event of finding the bottom and of course she will remain level if that occurs( hopefully intentionally on a soft bottom for hull maintenance). The stillette catamaran drive is also safely lifted out of harms way while sailing but will kick up and over if it encounters a hard object unseen by the helmsman.

Waterline Boats / Boatshed does not independently verify capacities and measures, which are reported from seller-provided information and/or literature.

Broker's Comments

This Prout 33CS is a rare find for someone looking for a small cruising catamaran with a proven pedigree. She has been lightly used since purchase by her second owners and kept in fresh water the last 15 years. The owners' plans to cruise her south to Mexico have not materialized and she is now for sale.

Prout 33s are legendary for their ruggedness and seaworthy behavior. They have been crossing the world's oceans for decades carrying families in safety and comfort. The deep, secure cockpit is wonderful for children and pets while offering comforting security when seas turn rough.

All running rigging is led aft to this deep cockpit and can be reached from the helm allowing safe single-handing. The foredeck is flat and secure in a seaway if going forward is needed, and this are is also a wonderful spot to lounge underway or in port.

This boat has had most of the required upgrades/ repairs done including a new higher horsepower Yanmar diesel with only 810 hrs, hulls professionally peeled and barrier coated and all standing rigging replaced. I would have a new mainsail made if going offshore but she is in sailaway condition now. She is very worthy of cosmetic (new paint topsides) and electronic upgrades. with other new owner upgrades desired this is is a great opportunity to equip the boat as you desire and make her a Bristol yacht at a fraction of the cost of a comparable new build!

If you have been researching small, seaworthy cruising catamarans then you know about the Prout 33CS, and this is your chance to get an excellent, upgraded stock example with no damage history and complete maintenance records since new. There is no better value on the market for someone who wants a proven blue water small cruising catamaran.
Worldwide shipping is available from the Port of Seattle and delivery from her current location on her own bottom can be also be considered.
