Commentaires du Broker
A fine example of an ex Royal Navy pinnace that is registered on the UK National Historic Ships Register. The approx year of build is thought to be mid 1880s. The builder's yard is unknown.
The hull is believed to be of double planked teak & oak construction, and has bilge keels P&S. A single BMC diesel engine is mounted under the bench seating for'd of the helm, although originally the boat would have likely been steam powered.
A coach house was fitted circa 1930's, constructed of mahogany with picture windows providing lots of natural light and stunning 360 degree water level views to the main seating saloon. The aft dining saloon has an extending table and 2 seats to port, opposite a compact galley area and heads/shower compartment to stbd.
The current owner has carried out significant restoration, upgrades and maintenance works to the boat, with scopes encompassing the hull including repainting, varnishing of the coach house (internals & externals), as well as the decks, new seat cushions to the main saloon, new removable carpets throughout both saloons, and a full length removable coach house cover that extends over both the for'd and aft cockpits. These for'd and aft covers can be removed/raised to create two separate outside seating areas, The aft cockpit U-shaped seating looks particularly impressive inset within the classic stern hull lines.
This boat has recently had a full survey, and subsequently passed its BSS Certification which is now valid until 14/04/2028, and demonstrates how well the current owner has restored and cared for this classic.
The sleek hull lines, with open for'd and aft cockpit seating areas, and central enclosed coach house has been lovingly converted in to what is now a classic river launch, and would make an ideal day-boat for spending quality time afloat with family and friends, or as a weekender for a discerning couple by utilising the main saloon seating as 2 single beds.
A real head turner for those that appreciate the enduring value and timeless quality of classic boats such as this one.
