Both engines have been replaced. This owner replaced the starboard engine in 2008 and the port engine in 2012. At 950 and 250 hours respectively this boat has very low hours. Both engines have 100 amp alternators.

A Magnum 2800 watt inverter charger provides 110 volt power with a Magnum Energy Panel.

There are solar panels on top of the dinghy davit that provide 120 Watts of charging power through a 35 amp Solar Charge Controller.

The house bank has 750 amps-hours of 12 volt power and each engine has an isolated start battery. Batteries are AGM and were replaced last year. Batteries are located in the aft end of the galley.
Heat is supplied by a Wabasto diesel forced air unit.
There are two air conditioning units. One forward and one aft. These can only be used with dock side power or a portable generator.

Sails

Reefing mainsail - Slab (1993) Stack Pack, Lazy Jacks, 2 Reefs
Headsail 130% roller furling. - Furling (1993)
Spinnaker gear

The rig has been pushed aft to increase the foretriangle. This makes the main smaller and the jib larger. With Harken genoa roller furling it makes the boat easier to handle in heavy weather.

All halyards are run aft to the cockpit and both genoa and main sheets are controlled at the aft end of the cockpit close to the helm.

The vessel is set up with a spinnaker halyard run to the cockpit and includes a spinnaker/whisker pole mounted on the mast.

The main has lazy jacks and a Stack Pack mounted on the boom.

The extra wide bimini folds aft out the way when not in use.

There are Sunbrella covers for the salon and dodger windows. Mesh sunshades are on the salon windows.
-- There is a Drifter available but not included.

All around this is an easy boat to control in any weather.

The hull design of the Island Packet 35 Catamaran has a unique center pod section. The idea is that the pod will be submersed at all times and act to break up the waves between the two hulls to soften the ride. This design could be considered more of a boat with three hulls -- in fact a hybrid cat-trimaran. This design also provides more headroom in the main cabin and more storage space under the forward deck. This forward hold is about 100 cubic feet.

The two small keels give this craft a 3 foot draft with a 15' beam.

Overall construction is consistent with the high standards that Island Packet is known for.

With a 27 hp engine in each hull top speed under power approaches 8 knots.
The saloon dinette is a booth design and has been raised to supply 270 degree view.
The cockpit is a Conversational style allowing captain and crew a full view forward and aft with comfortable seating.
Waterline Boats / Boatshed do not independently measure capacities and volumes, which are taken from seller-provided information and/or literature.
There are 4 storage areas in the cockpit. Two 23 cubic Ft. spaces under the seats, port and starboard. The two lockers in the transom are 10 cubic feet each.

Accommodation

Total # of berths 6
No. of double berths 3
Cabin(s) 3
Sink 3
Shower 2
Air conditioning 2 Air conditioning Units
Heads 2 heads (Electric)

The cockpit is large like most cats but the coachroof design allows the helm station to be lower. Many cats have to have an elevated helm station just to see forward. Not so with the Island Packet.

Each hull provides a double berth plus a separate head for each stateroom. There are three large drawers in each stateroom plus a hanging locker.

Engine access is through the shower in each hull and provides extra space around the engine and plenty of room for equipment.
There is an electric head in the starboard stateroom and a manual head in the port.

The large U-shaped dinette also converts to a double berth providing three double berths and lots of privacy. The galley is well set up and provides enough space for two people to work.

The nav station and control panel area is also very accessible with additional storage.

There are 2 10 Lb. Propane tanks in the starboard propane locker.

With the large cockpit, plenty of deck space and comfortable staterooms this is a great two-couple vessel.

The boat is equipped with air conditioning but only for dock side use.

Broker's Comments

The Island Packet Packet Cat 35 Catamaran has a unique hull design. The forward section has three hulls. This removes the hull slap common to other cats in a seaway. It also provides more storage area under the forward deck -- enough to supply room for air conditioning units and general bulk storage.

Here's a boats.com design review by Bob Perry: http://www.boats.com/reviews/boats/perry-design-review-packet-cat-35.
This vessel has trans-Atlantic experience. It has traveled from Florida to Spain and back in 1998.

Two staterooms, each with their own head and shower, make an excellent cruising boat for two couples.

Another design positive is the fact that the boat has a lower profile allowing the helm station to be at deck level in the cockpit. So many cats need the helm mounted up high so the driver can see over the cabin top.

With a large booth style dinette that converts to another double berth and a galley that has plenty of storage this is a great cruising sailboat.

Another real plus is that Lake Union Moorage is available and allows live a boards. It is a very private end dock with a great view of the harbor. Slip is wired for internet and there is a laundry in the marina. This section of the parking lot is free. Westlake Av is serviced by City but ,route #40 which takes you right into downtown Seattle.
