construction

GRP construction with Planing underwater profile, gelcoat finish
Hull is modified "V" design with double chines. Below the waterline the hull is solid GRP with balsa core above the waterline primarily for insulation. Engine stringers are GRP without wood coring. “The double chine allows the bow to strike a wave with the first chine and flatten out that wave, leaving a soft feel to the ride". “This also helps throw the resulting bow wave outboard, making the boat very dry.”
From the cockpit it’s an easy step down to the swim step, by way of stairwells on either side. That makes the stern a pleasant area for swimming, diving or relaxing in the sun.A walkway leads forward through the seating area to the foredeck and bow pulpit, eliminating the side walkways that are the traditional method of reaching this area. That leaves room for an expanded saloon and galley area below.

New survey in August 2011. placed boat value at almost 10% higher than the current asking price.

Entering this vessel from the raised cockpit through a center line glass slider you step down into a spacious single level salon interior utilizing most of the width of the boat. The seating is wrap around and facing each other with a removable table on the starboard side. Flat screen TV to port and walk through head / shower access to starboard. The galley is along the port side and wet bar directly across with the large master cabin directly forward. This is a very open and spacious design with light fabrics and woods resulting in a very brght interior. The starboard settee convertes to a double berth while the port side appears to be a single. The open bridge design allows for a large seating area covered with bimini and isenglass enclosure. The cockpit has a shelter cover as well. All the canvas and windows appear as in good condition and were new in 2010. Interior upholstery "leather look alike" new in 2010. This boat has a great design for entertaining with the access forward from the bridge via hidden steps in the windshield it eliminates the need to walk the side decks to access the foredeck and bow.

This Carver 380 Santego is a very rare find here in the Northwest in that it has twin diesels. These low-hour, naturally aspirated engines will provide many years of low-cost cruising for her next owners. With factory A/C and heat pump this boat can easily be used year around. The open bridge design is perfect for entertaining and safe movement about the boat. With bimini and isenglass enclosure you can navigate the Northwest through all seasons. The wide salon is well-appointed with updated fabrics. It offers a mini-bar with ice maker across from the galley. The large swim platform has steps on both sides to the cockpit making swimming or sunbathing easy. The owners may consider a part trade for a trailerable fishing boat suitable for ocean fishing in coastal waters.
