Tradition was broken this year when the 19th Annual Pacific Northwest Camano Rendezvous was held in the US instead of Thetis Island, BC. Camano Trolls, Camano Gnomes, Camano 41’s and the recently-launched Bracewell 41 were gathered at the Lopez Islander Resort in Fisherman Bay on Lopez Island. Attendance was smashing this year with 32 vessels and 64 Camano enthusiasts! Food, spirits, activities, conversation, prizes and fun were abundant. A great time was had by all!

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary officer Gary Ford led a very informative boating safety discussion. Camano owners warmly welcomed Gary and his wife Tara despite their arrival in a red-hulled Nordic Tugs trawler!

Boaters shared (confessed) their most embarrassing / harrowing / disastrous boating experiences and their “lessons learned”. The group voted and determined that Bron’s & Jay’s story was the BEST. Their lesson — trust your fuel gauges and don’t let your fuel get too low!
